Overview
The Freedom of Information Law (Public Officers Law, article 6 and 19 NYCRR part 80) (FOIL) grants members of the public access to records of government in accordance with its provisions. Make a FOIL Request
FOIL requests for records maintained by the Office of Renewable Energy Siting must be submitted in writing to the Office’s Records Access Officer. Please be as specific as possible in describing the records you seek. Requests can be delivered in person, mailed, faxed, emailed or submitted online by using the button below.

SITING PERMIT MANAGEMENT:
All the paperwork (application, plans, test data, hearing reports, and so on) required to complete an application and issue or deny a permit for a major renewable energy facility pursuant to Executive Law § 94-c; technical assistance handbooks, manuals, background material, correspondence and related records.
OFFICE OF GENERAL COUNSEL:
Civil and administrative litigation files; contracts, agreements, and memoranda of understanding; hearing files on permit applications; legal advice / guidance / policy documents; legal interpretations, research, and reference files.
ADMINISTRATIVE HEARINGS:
Decisions, orders, rulings, reports, affidavits, mailing lists, transcripts, testimony, correspondence, and so on related to hearings.
RULEMAKING:
Records that are part of the rulemaking package required under article 2 of the State Administrative Procedure Act, and records that are supporting documents related to rulemaking, but not part of the rulemaking package required under article 2 of the State Administrative Procedure Act.
